We recently sat down with THE Fur Face Boy aka Ha Mai for an interview! Ha Mai is the owner of Fur Face Boy, a brand that I've been following for a long time to come! Here's the interview below, can't find it anywhere else but

1) How did you come up with Fur Face Boy?
• I just wanted an outlet where I could be myself as much as I possibly
could be and also be as creative as much as I wanted to be without ANYONE telling me otherwise. The brand is basically just based off my own personality and the things that I'm interested in (pop culture, music, games, art/design, etc). The name 'Fur Face Boy' was inspired by my intrigue of the 'Wolf Boy' in India. 'Fur Face Boy' was also the nickname of my dog (R.I.P.), Bear Mai. To this day, Bear Mai still influences many FFB designs.

2) What's next for Fur Face Boy?
• Just to continue living MY life, working hard, having fun, being
spontaneous and whatever happens, happens.

3) Do you ever plan on opening any flagship stores?
• I ALWAYS envision opening a flagship store sometime down the line, but
first I have to establish my brand EVEN MORE. So, short answer...yes.

4) Which clothing lines were your inspiration?
• I'm inspired by pretty much ALL lines. Two of my favorite brands are Johnny Cupcakes and The Hundreds. Personally, asides from FFB, you'll find me either wearing a Band / concert t-shirt or an ACTUAL vintage t-shirt.

5) Any collaborations coming in the near future?
• Yes. 'Nuff said! ;)

6) Will you ever sell the FFB company?
• Hell no!

7) Any advice for up and coming clothing brands?
• Make sure that you have a PASSION for what you're doing! Work hard, stay determined / inspired, have fun and be as open-minded as much as possible. Also, use common sense! If you need an answer to something...GOOGLE.COM!

8) Do you ever plan on having a tour?
• That's a great idea! But no, I don't plan on any tours (yet).

9) Any thing left you want to say?
• The coolest part of summer is the ice in my veins. The warmest part of
winter is the anger in my pains. --WTF? Bwhahaaha...!

To be honest, I became somewhat of a Mavs fan while living in Dallas five years ago, so I’m also happy to see Dirk Nowitzki and Mark Cuban finally win a ring after their collapse against the Heat in 2006. With the Dallas Maverick’s taking the NBA Championship last night, you can bet that Fur Face Boy was camped out on cloud 9.

After releasing his “Fur Face Diggler” tee to celebrate the Mavericks making the playoffs, he’s now released the “Fur Face Diggler (Champion Edition)” tee, which is now available for pre-order until Wednesday, June 15.

I can’t stress enough just how awesome it has been to see Dirk Nowitzki FINALLY win a title not just for the Mavs, but for ALL of Dallas! I admit, when the Mavs got Dirk back in ’98 I was so pissed (I wanted Paul Pierce), but to see him grow and develop from a 20 year old European rookie into one of the best players ever to play in the NBA makes me appreciate this championship so much more!

Cool Brand: Fur Face Boy T-Shirts

Weird is cool. Aside from shoes I like weird or just funny t-shirts. I also obsess trying to find and hear of other peoples business stories: how they got started, what they did to over come stuff, how they sold some $0.25 piece of plastic for $75 1 million times or just how they enjoy their life by living out their passion. So weird shirts + cool business story = my attention. Sometime in 2009 I came across the site: FurFaceBoy.com. Hilarious name for a t-shirt brand and the logo was one of those kids with the mysterious hair all over his body disease always on the front of the grocery store checkout flyers(the infamous one with weird stories escapes me right now, leave a comment if you know it). Right away added to my favorites list of clothing and blogs to follow.

Fast foward to this month I finally bought a FurFaceBoy t-shirt after nearly 2 years of following his blog. I could go on but I'll stop from boring you. Seriously if you ARE bored read his blog from 2009 to now, it is like a book. Genuine story of how someone has and is still working his way to make something out of his passion and creativity. Also a great example if you are thinking you want to create your own line of shirts or some kind of creative product. Don't copy him, just do what he has done....believed in himself. I can't agree more with this quote from his About page:

"I’m one to believe that as a kid, we all have a special talent / skill…a love for something. Whether it’s art, science, music, sports, cooking, writing, philosophy, mathematics, business, or whatever…it’s just a matter of constantly developing that love while ignoring everyone who doubts and makes fun of it.

Fur Face Boy is the brand for that kid that’s still in all of us, who grew up yet never let go of their love."

Truth. He even took time to look at my site and write a personal note. Just because of that he's got a customer for life.

The shirt is the "FFB A.B.A." It's kinda like an inside personal joke to me too because I worked for an A.B.A. team back in '09 and it was just horrible how it all turned out.
